Bro, Nice Beat What's the Name of the Main Sample?
Dopeness
Does the SP1200 have a filter in it for the filtered sample? Or was that processed externally? Nice groove, thank you
I like the workflow of the SP. You never kno what your gonna get when you pitch down. Good stuff here. Peace!
brooooooo!!!! this is fyeeeee
sick
Nice Sample 💯💯🔥😎
nice beat
Gimme dat SP.. NOW.
BiiiiimmmmmMMMMM !
super dope bro. how come you put the filtered sample? just to give the beat some grit?
I just wonder what kind of trolly squares are the people thumbsing down this vid. GTFOH. Good work g. Sounds ill.
Lovely!

same
How was the sample filtered?
roland vs2480 i had at the time
Good stuff, man! Long time musician here who's just getting into sampling. Been working w an MPC and trying into get the groove of workflow. When you were chopping up your percussion did you take that from songs released by artists or did you use records dedicated to break beats, drum volumes, etc.? What kind of ideas do you have for finding that "initial" sample to base your groove around? I find this is the most difficult concept for me to grasp. Keep up the good stuff!
as for drums, break records can be useful when you're starting out but as my collection has grown I've found drums here and there and have gathered my own "kits". but yeah, i just listen to all kinds of records and when something sparks my ears/soul ill loop it up and see where it takes me. sometimes it starts with drums, sometimes it starts with an instrument. sometimes a "workflow" can even hinder creativity. i just follow where my ears want to be led. hope this helps, peace.
So I've been doing some tests. If u speed up the sample on tape the digital weirdness is not as crazy once u pitch down on sp1200.. plus u look kool fucking with OG shit like tape... I was speeding up samples with mpc or e4000 snd iv u go too far it sounds booboo when u pitch down on sp1200... me personally I like tha filth, bud I from the sound of ur videos I can tell you after that crispy shit! Wondering why u don't fuck with mpc60ii or something like that. 12 but but alittle more time to play with and probably more on key with what u trying to do?
You guys make such a big deal about only having 10 seconds! You can record in alot faster than 45rpm and still be able to down pitch( I use a e4000 rack sampler to chop, edit, and speed up around 150% to 200%)(also you can pitch down even further than the faders in the set up menu under special (23) then in Init dk/tune(20). Plus the faster the sample, the sweeter the sound once u pitch it down.. also long samples can be split up among the pads.. for me I chop drum loops into about 15 chops so I can change the pattern. And still have around 6 to 7 seconds for the rest of the song.. theres a channel called daydream sound where the guy shows this better than I can explain it.. anyway good luck and never sell the sp1200 it may be worth some money but to me the feeling of making a dope track on these vintage machines is priceless!!!
for sure. i use the 23/20 feature a lot and sometimes sample in at 78rpm if i need but i don't like to tune down tooooo much, just my taste. i think another part of the 1200 charm is not sampling loops and more so mashing shorter sounds together into your own composition [even tho i didn't really do that in this video haha] thanks for tips, peace
Alnitak Kid that about the mashing over loopin is so true! Def the thing that is missing in todays music. Loopin is def cool but mashing has this whole other level of craziness
Layering is what we call it
nice dreamy beat.
VERY COOL
So good...
Man that sp1200 sound is just one of a kind.
